New Moco Museum London Reveals Marina Abramović as Headline Solo Exhibition in spectacular London debut opening this September

(London, UK) – The anticipated new museum, Modern Contemporary (Moco) Museum, is thrilled to announce esteemed pioneer of performance art, Marina Abramović as the headline artist in her solo exhibition, Healing Frequency. The show marks the inaugural showcase at Moco Museum’s flagship location in London, with the museum also revealing the opening date as 11 September 2024.

Healing Frequency will be a landmark exhibition, featuring twelve works by the Serbian artist. Being active for over four decades, Abramović, a pioneer of performance art, famous for works such as Rhythm Series (1973–1974); Works with Ulay (1976–1988) and, more recently, The Artist Is Present (2010).

The show will call on the universal capacity for transformation and healing, with Marina inviting viewers to accept the profound impact of transitory objects on the human soul and how they impact our mental and emotional experiences.

In a synthesis of global exploration, art, and spirituality, the exhibition embodies a joint mission to search the depths of our collective consciousness.

Marble Arch’s newest cultural gem will be dedicated to Modern and Contemporary Art and, alongside Marina, will include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Yayoi Kusama, Andy Warhol, Banksy, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Daniel Arsham and KAWS, among many more.  Spanning an impressive 24,000 square feet, the venue will also host an additional 120 artworks. The museum opens following Moco Museum’s success in Amsterdam and Barcelona, attracting over 1.5 million visitors annually from over 120 different nations. Over 5 million visitors, including Barack Obama, Steven Spielberg, Venus Williams, Adele, Tim Cook, Dua Lipa and Idris Elba have visited the Moco Museums. This third cultural London chapter promises to echo Moco’s commitment to exhibiting iconic works by internationally renowned artists and rising stars.
