Celebrating the cultural and artistic diversity flourishing on the African continent, Amref Health Africa’s 2018 ArtBall takes place at the striking A/D/O creative space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on Saturday, April 28th at 7:30 pm. This event celebrates award-winning Nigerian-American artist Toyin Ojih Odutola.Honoring her recent exhibitions at leading contemporary art institutions the Whitney Museum, the Brooklyn Museum and the Studio Museum in Harlem. Honoring her practice, Amref’s ArtBall 2018 will feature special guests Swizz Beats, Alicia Keys and Solange Knowles in support of Amref’s initiatives to support infrastructure and healthcare throughout 35 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. To further support these efforts, Amref is hosting a contemporary African art auction, featuring various works of contemporary art and hosted by Artsy.

Interactive art installations will be staggered throughout the space, with fun and fabulous DJ Cuppy taking over the musical stylings of the evening complementing an open bar. There will be an African-inspired menu with TasteArtNYC. The art, food and creative atmosphere of Africa will be alive and well at this stunning and exciting event! Audra Lambert

Audra Lambert is an arts writer and independent curator who has worked on interdisciplinary projects involving painting, performance, new media and installation art. Her recent curatorial projects have included The Subtle Image group figurative exhibit at Dejavu Gallery, Reflecting Our City for the White Roof Project at the Center for Social Innovation, and participating in the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts’ A Wicked Problem. In addition to these projects she has served as Project Coordinator for More Art, a socially engaged nonprofit based in NYC, and she has contributed to Art Nerd, Examiner, AXS, and WhiteHot Magazine, among others. With an anticipated 2016 M.A. in Art History, Modern & Contemporary Art from CCNY, her primary focus is on installation art and contemporary art in the public sphere.
