Pro-Palestine Activists Stage Protest at the Met, Displaying Oversized Quilt on Museum’s Steps, NYC (News)

In New York City, a large assembly of activists convened outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, urging the institution and its board members to sever connections with companies profiting from the conflict in Gaza while pledging support to safeguard Palestinian cultural landmarks ravaged by Israeli actions. Dominating the scene was a monumental 30-by-50-foot quilt, reminiscent of the iconic AIDS Memorial Quilt, meticulously crafted from contributions by 64 artists worldwide. Themed “From oppression to liberation, free Palestine,” the quilt served as a poignant symbol of solidarity and resistance.
