David Zwirner is pleased to announce that Alex Marshall has joined the gallery as a senior director. Based at the gallery’s Melrose Hill location in Los Angeles, Marshall will be part of the global sales team.
Marshall brings nearly two decades of experience across the art market. He most recently served as West Coast head of postwar and contemporary art at Christie’s Los Angeles, where he worked for six years. Prior to his tenure at Christie’s, he was a private art advisor in New York for over a decade, following his start at Metro Pictures in 2008.
“I am so pleased that Alex Marshall has joined our Los Angeles gallery and will be working alongside Alex Tuttle and Robert Goff,” said David Zwirner. “Marshall is a seasoned professional with roots in both New York and Los Angeles. His extensive expertise in the auction world, paired with the deep trust and admiration he has earned from artists, makes him an ideal fit for our artist-first ethos.”
Marshall added: “I’m excited to be joining the talented team at David Zwirner and to engage with a program that is widely recognized for its vision, rigor, and impact. Los Angeles is experiencing an especially vibrant moment, with a dynamic community of collectors, renowned institutions, and—most importantly—exceptional artists. I look forward to contributing to the gallery’s legacy while continuing to grow alongside the artists and communities I care most about.”
