    Kim Power

    Kim Power is a mixed media artist and writer currently residing in The Bronx. Her art career began in 1991, following her graduation from James Madison University (B.S. Art Education). Her work has been exhibited in Washington D.C. at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Virginia at the Greater Reston Arts Center, Maryland at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery, France at the Salle Basse, and in The Netherlands at the Galerie Bianca in de Molen, to name a select few. She has created set design showcased at the John F. Kennedy center for the Performing Arts and received a Small Projects Grant from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities for her collaboration with the Deborah Riley Dance Projects. Since achieving her MFA in painting from the New York Academy of Art (2014), she has worked for notable artists Lesley Dill and E.V. Day while creating her own body of work which was recently included in the October 2015 London edition of Fresh Paint Magazine. As an extension of her art practice, she functions as a freelance writer whose reviews have been published in The Brooklyn Rail and Quantum Art Review.
