Expansion and refreshing an art gallery can open the gates to some very interesting programming. With the pair of two very sexy shows at the main gallery and their project space that Albertz Benda had a strong outing for October. AF paid a visit first to the subterranean project space for Annabel Daou: a million times where it was dark, magical and solemnly seductive. The meticulously printed words on the fragile lattice pages and the card where your fortune is jotted down via prose was quite enchanting. Then we stepped up to the main gallery where it evoked ROCK GLAM and 80’s glitz with the show by Jen Ray:  Deep Cuts. The illustrative style of warrior women evoked part Ziggy Stardust and Mad Max Thunder Road heroines. A special performance last October 8th sealed the deal in pushing the feminist mystique forward. These women are here so hear them roar!
