Artists if they best themselves serve it to another level and that is what this latest show at Nancy Hoffman Gallery from Frank Owen proved last October 29th. NEXT showcased what this artist has done to amplify the intensity, energy and visual dynamics of his paintings. The color values, the drips, the melding shapes and jumbled motion on the canvas served him well. Color was paramount in the impact as the melee of art goers and the frenetic energy of the opening reception couldn’t upstage the vitality of his works. Frank Owen simply took it to the NEXT LEVEL and it’s worth upping the ante.
