The incessant rain could not dampen the spirit of those making the gallery rounds in Chelsea last Sept. 10th and one of the stops made by AF was at De Buck Gallery with their high quality contemporary art shows. For their season opener they presented Houston based artist Joseph Cohen and his show Dasein.  It was a visual refresher to see the monochromatic panels with the viscous looking drips at the bottom edges. You might think it is too simple but your deeper investigation of his work will yield the fact that copious amount of work was put in to make something look effortless. I guess you just had to be there and be present to experience it for yourself.
