Money is the root of all evil. Yeah right but it’s awesome to have boat loads of it. Imagine what you can do – buy the red hot Ferrari to park in your restored mid-century designed house in the Hollywood Hills, jet off on your private plane to anywhere in the world on a whim, make your closet Gucci, :Prada, Docle & Gabbana, oh how wicked! The latest work from Tom Martin for his show (Filthy) Lucre, which opened last November 13th takes a very focused and unwavering look at our love – hate relationship with money. The very layered and masterful hyper-realism paintings left your mouth agape and with his three dimensional work utilizing coins from various countries that money talks indeed. In the art world, it is tedious to talk about money. Don’t say it – just pay it you filthy beast!
