I describe my collage work as simple and stylish. I always work analogue-style, using old and new magazines, old photos and random pieces of paper I happen to come across.
By combining images that at first seem to have no relation, I like to create a new reality and tell a story.
In collage making, I work on my instincts. Everything goes and there is no right or wrong. I will grab images merely because they appeal to me, for no clear reason. Then I will grab another image that I feel matches with the first one, and so I continue until I am satisfied with the result and it is right.
I like to work in three categories: subjects (people or animals), backgrounds (shots of nature, crazy motifs), and stuff (shapes, fruit). Some days I look for the right colour combination, on other days I look for that nicely dressed lady in front of that appealing house.
In collecting, it is about finding captivating images, giving them a suitable context and putting them together finally.
