MAVI ANNOUNCES “WHAT’S YOUR BROOKLYN” ART COMPETITION

New York, NY April 30, 2014.  Launching on May 12th, Mavi will hold a contest for artists to create a mural on the brand’s U.S. flagship store in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

From May 12th until June 6th, artists can submit their designs to Events.us@mavi.com for a chance to put their stamp on the iconic neighborhood.  Artists are asked to create designs around the question “What’s your Brooklyn?” as an homage to the neighborhood the mural will be located in, but have total freedom in expressing that concept in their design.

MAVI ANNOUNCES “WHAT’S YOUR BROOKLYN” ART COMPETITIONAfter the submission due date, local, Brooklyn jurors will come together in order to select the mural winner, which will be announced on June 9th.  The jury members for the competition will include Brooklyn locals Eric Adams, Brooklyn Borough President, Michael Conklin, editor in chief of Brooklyn Magazine and Lisa Small, Curator of Exhibitions at the Brooklyn Museum.

The winner’s mural will be unveiled during a special, neighborhood event on June 21st at the Park Slope flagship located at 205 5th Avenue.
