We love Drama or rather Diorama – not the soap opera kind that ends in tears but the idea of recreating and viewing a world in miniature that’s contained in a frame. AF came to the first solo exhibition of Conor Backman at Mixed Greens featuring his new take on the titular idea of a Diorama. The plethora of works played on this reinterpretation and fleshed out approaches to the word itself. We saw traces, cave dwellings, paintings that evoke manufactured availability, and a peephole that was not to be sneezed at. All devised to make you look, observe differently and possibly see the world in a much thoughtful manner. Art is back to entice you to keep viewing and perhaps watch a little bit closer. For this, the artist was successful in giving us art loaded with dramatic dioramic meatiness worth biting into. Yum!
