Yes, I used a Janis Joplin song reference (for the young ones who don’t know who Janis Joplin is, well this betrays my old geezer bank of facts) and if so inclined beat me with a tie-dyed shirt and feather boa! AF came out to see the works of Bay area artist Barry McGee at Cheim & Read last September 12th.  The anti-establishment spirit rocked the entire show with his signature graffiti-like characters, geometrics, and wry commentary on urban culture. The best surprise was at the rear room of the gallery where a massive entire wall installation of works from McGee came at you like a tidal wave. It is a tsunami of ART that you won’t run away from! It is most definitely worth riding the wave to see this one, Dude!
