Newly branded Judith Charles Gallery (formerly Charles Bank Gallery) opened up their Fall 2013 art season with dual shows. AF trekked the Bowery and came to the opening of#PSEUDOreal (a group show) on the main floor and the solo exhibition at the lower level for Social Engagement. It sure was packed with art lovers and the variety of works is the best welcome to a new season of art in NYC. Colors, forms and material lined the walls as well as the guests punching up the scene.
#PSEUDOreal was curated by Eric Cahan. It included the following artists: Michael Staniak, Peter Demos, Adam Parker Smith, Carolyn Salas, Trong Nguyen, Rebecca Reeve, and Steph Gonzalez-Turner.
Eric Starosielski had his solo show with Social Engagement which had mixed media installations that touched on methods and elements of communication.
With a new name and fresh art on the premises, Judith Charles Gallery is poised to keep the Bowery art row fueled and warming the bellies of art starved lovers well into the frigid days ahead.
