The lone female artist of the Arte Povera movement showed recent works and earlier ones in a very intimate but poetic way. Arte Povera coined by Germano Celant in 1967 referred to artists subverting the long held conventions and materials used in Western Art. Merz used everyday and organic materials to make pieces of art that managed to fascinate. AF came to the opening reception last Thursday April 4th to view the significant works of this artist. Our premiere shutterbug, Max Noy, found the interesting bits and pieces to highlight.
