Lines create space. Within that space dimension, length, quantity and depth can be manipulated. Through this manipulation I am trying to define my version of beauty. The need to escape reality and wanting freedom from the normalities of everyday life lead me on my artistic path. Within the realm of abstractionism I am able to transform simple objects into complex pieces. I don’t limit myself to one style or medium because inspiration and ideas change. In addition to lines I am also aided by the use of odd shapes, patterns, contrasting hues and the mixture of paint with different ingredients. This works in order to channel the message through the art and breathe life into it. Thus making my “beauty” a reality. My work is a reflection of the fact that ideas like beauty can and should be challenged. With that challenge growth and knowledge come about.
