It is quite a rare treat to see numerous brilliant stars from a supernova artist and Gagosian Gallery on 24th Street unleashed the brightest one of all: Jean-Michel Basquiat. Featuring over 50 works from public and private collections, it is a must see as AF experienced such powerful and mesmerizing barrage of so many numerous gems all in one venue. His works still resonate a passion mixed with righteous anger, symbolic ingenuity, high visual impact, intelligence in the details, color-tastic cacophony and multi-cultural reach that is unrivaled by any other artist that changed the face of art back in the 80’s. Just like a brilliant shooting star with its meteoric rise fated for a short life span, Basquiat died at the age of twenty-seven. This show is up for a limited time and on view on a short time span. We don’t need to get on your face and suggest this one as a must see – you know you want to go!
