It was a full house for the group show “Print” at Woodward Gallery in the Lower East Side. What I really liked about this group show was the mixture between superstars and fresh new names showing side by side. Print features newsprint, blueprint, xerox, lithography, offset lithography, screen-printing, woodcut, monotype, giclee, etching and other methods by a variety of artist. My personal favorites are the Francis Bacon Triptych 1983, Girl by Swoon 2009, and Army of One Homage to RH 2012. If you’re looking to take-up such activities then you may want to start small. Work along side a Managed Print Services company to practice on the PC before turning your creation into real life!

The Artists include: Francis Bacon, Jean Michel Basquiat, Rick Begneaud, Gaia, El Celso, Alexander Calder, Willem de Kooning, Matt Siren, Richard Estes, Swoon, Paul Gauguin, Red Grooms, Sol Lewitt, Richard Hambleton, Jo Ellen Van Ouwerkerk, Robert Rauschenberg, Sarah Hauser, Robert Indiana, Donald Judd, David Hockney, Georgia O’Keeffe, Stikman, Mel Ramos, Gerard Richter, Army of One, James Turrell, andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Patrick Christie, and Ellsworth Kelly.
