Playground scapegoats if given the right encouragement can grow up to be geniuses. (I quoted this from the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”) However, this is most likely true for the glitziest, freshest, and most vibrant collection of New York City art talents. Tracy Von Becker-Legge curated the group show for the Chelsea Eye Art Gallery. This neo-French Salon features the city’s brightest artists and photographers. On December 5th that it was the denizens of the New York nightlife that ruled the roost and pumped up the volume. Featuring a red carpet, a wine reception complete with a stellar bar tender service (Richie Rich of Heatherette), copious artworks from “eye” level to ceiling, and surprise goodies in swag bags for all (organic eye cream, j’adore!). The supernova divas and the unique players of the art field kept it going drop dead gorgeous crazy throughout the night. It’s comforting to know that the art scene in New York still has the star wattage in sequins and glitter galore but it must have the goods to back it up. AF photographer Max Noy (whose work is also included in the show) captured the effusively flamboyant and high energy filled night. Let the disco ball turn, turn, turn the beat around and vogue till the break of dawn! Sorry if you missed the opening glam-stravaganza but feel free to drop by to see the art.
