JMC Art Gallery, 674 Ninth Avenue, New York City, celebrated the completion of it full first year as one of the most vibrant art galleries in Hell’s Kitchen on Saturday evening, May 7, 2011. The work of thirteen artists, Barry Boneau, Bryce Briggs, Lola Galicynski, Jonathan Glass, Meg Graham, Dorothy Krakauer, Irina Kuzminsky, Steven Palermo, Meron Philo, Janet Restino, George Tun Sein, Akiko Yodogawa, and Adi Zekcher, ranged from first time art exhibitors to those who have worked professionally for several years. This very diverse exhibit of artwork ranged from the realistic archival ink on canvas prints by Dorothy Krakauer and graphite drawings by Bryce Briggs to the peaceful, meditative collages by Steve Palermo and serene abstracts by George Tun Sein. Jazz was represented by at the performance pen and ink drawings by Jonathan Glass, and prints and paintings by visual artist and performer, Janet Restino. Curated by Dorothy Krakauer, this exhibit is to be seen. This is an intriguing art show portraying ones development through life via fantastic drawings, peaceful collages, colorful paintings, serene and brilliantly painted abstracts, active collage paintings, and strong structural pictures.
