Charles received his BFA from Cornell University (2005), attended Cornell University’s study abroad program, Cornell in Rome (2004), Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, London (2003) and RISD (2001).  Charles’ group exhibitions include The Gershwin Hotel on Fifth Avenue; Intricacies: Extreme Detail in Current Art, at Yale University in association with the New Haven Arts Council; Vertical Penmanship, Micro Museum, Brooklyn, NY (where he won curator’s pick “best in show”); Reclaiming Space, Gallery House, Brooklyn, NY; Figment 2010, on Governor’s Island, NY and Recession Proof, curated by SharkMother, HiChristina! Gallery. Upcoming solo exhibitions include Samurai Rabbi at Orchard Windows Gallery in the Lower East Side and Custer’s Last Stand at SoapBox Gallery in Brooklyn. He was a recent recipient of the Edwin Abbey Austin Mural Fellowship at the National Academy Museum (2010); Robert Rauschenberg’s Foundation Grant (2010); The Puffin Foundation Grant (2011) and JCAL’s Studio LLC Program at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (2011). Charles Printz Kopelson lives and works in New York City.
